Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy 


In essence, mindfulness is nothing more than moment-to-moment awareness of one’s experience, without judgement. As simple as it is, mindfulness practice can be transformational and has been shown in clinical studies to be of help to those dealing with low mood, depression, anxiety, panic, stress and chronic pain. The 8 week MBCT  course was initially developed for the treatment of people at risk of recurrent depression, but has been expanded and employed in a number of settings, including for general well-being.


With who?

The MBCT course is facilitated by Ryan Roberts. Ryan is a zen monk and mindfulness teacher with over 20 years experience of meditation and mindfulness practices, he is currently studying at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre as part of the mindfulness teacher training programme. 

 




 

 

8 WEEK MBCT GROUP COURSE 

 

During quarantine, the 8 week MBCT course will be running from 20:00 - 21:30 on Thursday evenings via Zoom (start date to be confirmed). Get in touch to find out when the next course is starting. 

 

Costs 
 

ONLINE
During COVID we kindly ask for a suggested donation of £5- £15 per session, or whatever you can afford. We are keen that money shouldn't be a barrier to practice. 

FACE to FACE

Price for 8 week MBCT course:  £260

After the course

When the course is finished you will be offered an individual 15 mins online session with Ryan to think about next steps and to hear your feedback. This is obviously optional and not mandatory in order to access the course content. 

 

In addition Ryan offers regular (Monday - Friday) guided meditation sessions delivered both in person and streamed online. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

INDIVIDUAL MINDFULNESS

Ryan also offers one-to-one mindfulness meditation teaching. Either for general well-being or working with specific issues such as panic, anxiety or low mood. Individual sessions allow for the practice to be tailored to your specific needs and interests. Individual sessions are 50 mins, either weekly or fortnightly and can serve as a useful introduction to mindfulness meditation after which you can choose to access Ryan's live-stream guided meditations.  

Sessions are currently online, via zoom, with the option of office or home visits once lockdown is over.
